The Creature, Frankenstein


The Creature as depicted in the original novel by Mary Shelley was not a blockheaded brute with no human instinct. Instead, he was a sensitive, lonely thing who was literate, articulate and persuasive. Horrifically hideous to look at and an abomination of nature, the Creature was driven to murder by the unkindness shown to him by every human being whom he interacted with. Even his own creator found him to be reprehensible from the moment of life. The Creature curses the day it was cursed to live in a world where no others like him existed; where all men feared and abhorred him.
